Nonprofit boards play an important role in nonprofit governance. They are responsible for strategic planning and oversight accountability, financial stewardship and accountability. The Board is also accountable for ensuring that the company is honest and transparent with donors and the community. This is not an easy task. They should be available to the media as well as the community, and be willing to advocate for the organization when necessary.
